Meet Your Committee

Sometimes when we write, we become away of a running commentary in our head, like sportscasters calling plays:
"You can't write worth beans."
"You've used that same word six times. You need a different one."
"I before E except after C."
"This is the stupidest idea in the world. NO one will want to read this garbage."
"This is great. It's so cool, I'm sure no one has written about it just this way before."

It's often helpful the think of these voices as the committee - the Editor, the Critic, and the Muse. Some serve a purpose, some are just spiteful and mean. Keep the helpful ones, fire the not-so-helpful ones.
