Surrey International Writers Conference by Nicole Maggi The biggest conference I’ve ever attended. I’ve been back four times. It definitely is the best I’ve been to in terms of variety of workshops, caliber of speakers and presenters, and networking opportunities. Every facet of writing is explored here, from fiction to nonfiction, poetry to travel writing. There’s always a good mix of craft and business workshops, and it’s a great opportunity to meet other writers. In recent years, SIWC has gotten a bit pricey, and last year it was a little skewed towards Canadian writers. However, that should not deter you from attending. If you can afford it, GO.
